Monthly Me Time

Spread the love

Hello my dear faithful readers❤️ It’s been a while and let’s chalk it to life as an adult sucking! I mean come on, who likes to work all the time and pay bills *inserts eye rolling emoji* but atlas we have to do the necessary to survive this world. I’ve also been trying to find more topics to write about so my inspirations have been a little lacking. But it brings me to today’s post: Monthly Me Time.

I don’t know about you, but I definitely need some Me time, all the time! I work in retail so I’m around people for hours and it is exhausting. When I get home the last thing I want to do is be around more  people so I usually just isolate myself to my room to partake in my love for reading. Reading has been my escape since forever and it’s really nice to indulge. So I set aside time each day to have some reading time. It’s a small reprieve but sometimes it does the trick.

Recently I’ve decided to mix it up and add something else to my me time rotation. My job is close enough to a movie theatre that I can catch a matinee movie right after work. Let me tell you it’s been AMAZING! I’ve always had some reservations about doing activities by myself, but as I started to do them it makes it a little easier each and every time. Also, why not take advantage of $5 Tuesday’s!

I look forward to that time once a month where I can watch a movie and not have to worry about work, school, tuition, bills and other problems. My attention and focus is solely on the movie and it brightens up my spirit. Maybe it’s just me, but I feel like the movies I watch have some sort of lessons or a message that can help me in my life. I watched The Addams Family movie last month and I learned that change is good. When you are open to change it can do wonders. I also learned that  it’s imperative to be 100% ME. I might not be liked by everyone and that’s okay, because I know who I am, and I love myself. That’s all that really matters at the end of the day!

Today I watched Abominable and to be honest I was not interested at all in watching it, but it was the only movie that fit my schedule. I’m not too sure what exactly I was expecting when I watched Abominable but I was amazed at how funny this movie  was. Even though I didn’t care too much to watch it I enjoyed it whole heartedly and learned that sometimes the most unexpected journeys are often the most memorable.

I cannot wait for the next Me Time Movie I’ll get to see. I hope with this blog it’ll inspire you to switch up your Me Time routine and try something new. And for those of you who don’t really have a routine, I highly encourage you to do so! It’s good for the soul! Hope you guys have a great week!
